Smart Cover’s Top 10 Ways to Be Even More Beautiful in 2012!

January 12th, 2012

Be even more beautiful in 2012 with these suggestions from Smart Cover!

  1. Go for a luminous complexion. Choose skin care products that are right for you and a daily regimen that you can follow without pain. Search for the perfect “clean” and you are off to a great start.
  2. Correct, conceal and cover skin flaws, big and small on the face, on the body and over-all, and make it look natural. Smart Cover can definitely help you here, by giving a clear flawless face to build your make-up.
  3. Exercise…and you can do it less, but do it daily. You don’t have to spend hours at the Gym. A short but intense work-out or brisk walk is easier to stick to and can be just as beneficial and burn those calories.
  4. Drink-up and eat right. Dehydration makes you feel lethargic and water will restore your energy so take advantage of this calorie free cocktail….And don’t go on a fad diet! just find food and even smart sweets that give you nutrition as well as satisfy your taste buds.
  5. Blush more naturally with creme rouge in the softest of colors. It is the new way to get a dewy, younger glow especially for mature skin. The creamy consistency ignores wrinkles and fine lines, leaving the skin smoother and fresher all day long.
  6. Oops, we almost forgot, the best anti-aging tip of all. Wear a sunscreen everyday to prevent sun damage, and not just during summer months. Use one of the new crop of moisturizers with SPF protection and you will have it all in one package.
  7. Concentrate on your eyes. Pick shade combos that compliment your eye color, size of your lids and what you are wearing. Then layer your lashes with mascaras that build, extend and magnify your own and accent with smoky, soft pencil liners. WOW.
  8. Your lips tell all, so keep them in top shape, look and feel, day and night. Lubricate (remember that lips have no oil glands) and keep them from flaking. Did you know that Smart Cover’s Anti-Aging Lip Kit has everything you need for healthy lips? And lipsticks in bare nudes or bright reds, paired with gloss in every imaginable shade and shimmer gives a fabulous finish
  9. It is the perfect time to rework your wardrobe. Revisit your closet, find your classics and update with a new envelope clutch, ropes of pearls, maybe even new animal print shoes. Skirts are in for Spring. And above all, to thine own self be true. Buy what looks good for your size and suits your life style.
  10. Never forget your nails! To strengthen nails and hydrate skin on the hands, soak them for five minutes each week in a warm cup of milk. The lactic acid in milk will exfoliate dead skin from your hands while calcium will give strength to fragile nails. Smart Cover’s Vitamin Stick can also be used on the cuticles giving them extra vitamins while softening them.

See how Smart Cover can help you look more beautiful in 2012.

And just a last word from Nancy and Flori…. puleez don’t go to bed with your make-up on! Happy New Year to all our beautiful friends!

Happy weekend,

Smart Cover Cosmetics – Prime Time

December 27th, 2011

smart cover primerAlthough you may use a moisturizer and sunscreen daily before you apply your make-up, this does not guarantee the smooth surface that Smart Cover’s Moisture Primer will give you.

Just as a painter primes their canvas, priming your skin will keep your make-up looking color true and fresh all day long.

Smart Cover’s Moisture Primer Lotion is an all purpose, non-greasy moisture shield that smoothes and prepares your skin before you apply your make-up. In fact, the Moisture Primer Lotion is included in our Starter Kit and our Hollywood Kit.

Recommended by Make-Up Artists — Once you use it, you’ll never want to be without it!

Considering Plastic Surgery?

December 20th, 2011

It’s a question from one of our customers that we wanted to share with you.

“I am thinking of having plastic surgery. Is there a certain age you should be to do so? Can you be too old?”

We asked one of our medical experts, Dr Rudy Thompson, a board-certified Plastic Surgeon that question and here are his thoughts:

Dr. Rudy says, “‘Old’ is a terminology that we use outside the medical field.

I think in the medical field, everybody has an age that’s directly correlated to their medical problems. It goes by the extent of other medical issues like smoking. These factors are a very important part of our profession in terms of choosing who’s a candidate for plastic surgery. It all depends on how healthy you are, not necessarily your age.

This will be important to discuss with your Plastic Surgeon. Also just be sure your surgeon is a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). There are individual symbols for each society. An ASAPS member is someone who’s highly specialized in cosmetic surgery.”

As you may know we have many plastic surgeons recommend using Smart Cover post-op to help hide the bruising and redness that can occur. See the full line of Smart Cover products online.

Smart Cover Cosmetics Goes All Over

December 11th, 2011

We wanted to share what one of our loyal customers, “Lani” recently wrote to us.
“Once again, I wanted to tell you how much I LOVE your products. I do not have any birthmarks or redness I am trying to hide. I am just a normal 51 year old woman who likes even toned skin and your products do just that!”
smart cover cosmeticsWe are finding that more and more people are using our Smart Cover Concealing Creme and the Camouflage Creme as an all over, natural looking foundation.

The Concealing Creme works especially well when applied with a sponge and gives you a more perfect complexion that stays in place all day. Remember, it’s even waterproof!

And, we get raves from our customers whose skin may not be aging as gracefully, as they like. They prefer to use the creamy, blendable Camouflage Creme as an all over foundation. Since it doesn’t creep into the wrinkles, it gives your skin a more youthful look.

The best part is that both products stay on until you take them off! (Not always the case with everyday foundations).

Flaunt Those Curves

November 30th, 2011

We recently received a great question and we want to share some advice with you.

“I’m a full figured woman and wear a size 18. How do I look and feel stylish?”

We had the pleasure of consulting with Curvy Counselor, Michele Weston. She believes that you should wear what makes you feel good and have your own signature style, regardless of size.

Some of her other thoughts are:

  • Diminish want you don’t like and play up what you do!
  • Go for the prints. Look for patterns to wear on your top half whether it is a shirt or tunic. Make sure the size of the pattern is proportionate to the size you are. For example, tiny prints may look too childish.
  • Don’t match your bag to your shoes – just give it up! There’s a lot of customization on how to get dressed — so be daring with your accessories.
  • Belts are a great accessory. If you’re fuller in the middle, choose a dark color to wear, then wear the same color belt as your shirt so that you create a silhouette that elongates. If you have a fuller bust, or waist, look for a wide belt (above 2 inches). Wear the belt just below your bust line, which gives an umpire look; and, actually this is the narrowest part of a curvy woman’s body, so show it off.
  • Wear pants that have a flaired leg. It balances out a fuller bust or thicker waist.
  • Leather is the fabric to give you the best shape. It’s a great way to go from work to weekend.
  • Everyone needs a classic knee-length skirt. If you don’t like to accentuate your legs, your skirt can be a little bit longer.
  • You can wear black. Some people say it makes you look slimmer, but black is still very dark, so it’s important to pop it with some color.
  • Make sure you have a bit of stretch in your pants or blouses so you have more ease.
  • White is great to wear for spring or summer especially if you’re a woman of color.
  • And, red always makes a great fashion statement when you find the right fit for your body.

As for makeup, Flori and I want you to know that the Smart Cover Bronzer can help contour the face on the cheekbones and around the neck area creating a slimmer look and more definition. So if you’ve got it, show it, but always with your own style.
