When asked what determines good skin, Dr. Weinkle simply says: Lifestyle, Smoking and Genetics.
Remember, visible signs of aging come from the sun's UVA and UVB rays. They reach you while sitting near a window at home or even driving in your car. Everyone must wear sunscreen with a least 30 SPF. However, sunscreens only last for 2 hours so you need to reapply regularly.
Any Anti-Aging Tips?
Dr. Weinkle says wear sunglasses!
- it blocks some of the sun's rays and prevents frowning and squinting. She also feels very strongly that you should begin using products with Retinol under your moisturizer in your late 30's and never stop! Dr. Weinkle calls it her anti-aging "gold standard." She also believes using a hydrating eye cream at night helps prevent crows feet and wrinkles.
However, as your skin begins to age, you may want to try some non-surgical options
. Dr. Weinkle suggests first trying Neuromodulators - products such as Botox that relax the muscles (especially the frown lines). The next phase is when you begin to see visible lines when your face is at rest. Then it's time to consider fillers that contain Hyaluronic acids such as Juvederm and Restylane.
Dr. Weinkle also recommends our Perfect Touch Camouflage Crème
to her patients, so they can go right back to work after treatment with no signs of redness or bruising! She personally wears our Smart Cover Concealing Creme
on her legs and loves the coverage it gives her and her patients. Dr. Weinkle is her own best model for young and healthy looking skin!
